Umberto Eco was interviewed by Cees Nooteboom in issue 10 of The Irish Review. He considered the density of textuality, the symbol of the library, and the weave of words which constitutes the idea of Europe. Read an extract here.

And in the days following the sad passing of the genius that was Philip Chevron it seems appropriate that our archive extract from issue 9 is Kieran Keohane’s essay on the Pogues, one of the first sustained considerations of the importance of Chevron and his band. Read more here.
